Color Thief—unrhymed, inspired by Martin
1 The sun passes through the window
Warming all the paint and fabric
As they softly bake they give off
A gentle steaming of color.
5 The paint and fabric fade over time.
But where does the color float to?
The sun’s rays become a highway
Of colors drifting to the sky.
Swatches of color form up high
10 to be seen in the pale rainbows
As drops of water make them appear.
The sun gathers the colors up
In denser and denser clusters.
Keeping the shades and variations
15 Together in giant bunches
To be spread as the sun rises and sets.
